EOHD 2025 MILFORD VILLAGE WALKING TOURS

Back by Popular demand on European Open Heritage Days from 13th to 14th September, Milford Buildings Preservation Trust is providing walking tours of the world famous model village of Milford. Discover the extraordinary architectural and social history of the world famous model village of Milford built by the McCrum family who revolutionized the linen industry. Walking tour meets outside Milford House Gate and includes walk round perimeter of Milford House estate, Milford village and the penalty kick field. Learn about some of Milford's characters including our one armed barber!!

Milford village is a model village the creation of Robert Garmany McCrum who revolutionized the linen industry. Built around the celebrated firm McCrum, Watson & Mercer. Milford House was the wonder of its age the first residence in Ireland to be lit with hydroelectricity.
