PHOTOGRAPHS

Following the controversial sale of Milford House in 2002 by Armagh Banbridge Craigavon Borough Council it was decided there should be an archive of the house. Mrs. Katherine Armstrong of Deans Hill, a former pupil and later member of Board of Governors donated three black bags of photographs from past pupils and former members of staff. There were no names and no dates. Stephen McManus set about the mamoth task of cataloguing them and they were first put on exhibition in Old School House Milford in August 2002.

Since then many past pupils have donated their photographs and albums which provide a unique insight life at the Manor House School and record of the house itself.

DOCUMENTS

Stephen McManus contacted and corresponded with as many past pupils and former members of staff to record their memories of the school and of Milford House itself. These are a vital resource into a forgotten world of Northern Ireland's only country house residential school for girls and of what Milford House actually looks like.
