School trunks belonging to Mary Lester and Sarah Mc Caherty when they were at Manor House School. Girls attending the School had to bring trunks and everything for the school year on the Winter and Summer clothes list had to fit into the trunk.
The photographs in Manor House School collection are also an exceptional record of Milford House, its architecture and gardens showing how the house changed in course of twentieth century.

Manor House School was famous for its Lacrosse team. The game was considered suitable for ladies but since only three Schools in Ireland played it - Victoria College Belfast, Manor House School and a school in Dublin, the cups kept going between three schools.
Manor House School Houses
Manor House School was divided into houses Malta, Narvick and Jarvis Bay. The girls would get points for their houses and whichever house won at end of school year got to go on School Trip
Deirdre Moffat's school photographs were taken in 1961 the year Manor House School celebrated its Twenty Five Year Jubilee. The Italian Fountain in Pleasure Gardens had long ceased to work so the garden installed a hose up it in an attempt to get it working. (The fountain was stolen in 1997 and is a listed monument!

There were three tennis courts at Manor House School- two hardcourts and one soft court. They were built in front of the 1880 Tennis Pavilion. They installed in 1940 to replaced the existing tennis courts and were designed by Gyms Mistress.
