Milford House was considered very modern by the McCrum family. Robert Garmany McCrum collected modern artists which where popular at the end of the 19th century. These included Frederick, Goodall, Daniel Sherrin, Harry Sutton Palmer, Lloyd and Carter. Robert Garmany McCrum had a very important art collection including five paintings by De Breanski. Sadly his art collection was dispersed at the 1930 auction. The auction catalogue lists twenty eight paintings in the Drawing Room! The Trust today displays works of art which match those that were in Milford House.
