The entrance hall as with every room in the house was designed by Robert Garmany Mc Crum himself, is perhaps one of the finest features in the house.
All the woodwork in the house was done by Italian craftsmen and the paneling in this room is particularly exceptional. The decoration of the entrance hall with its ionic columns is intended to reflect the architectural detail of the exterior of the house, and there are carvings of fruit. The upper half of the walls may originally have been painted to reflect the colour of the concrete of the exterior of the house.
The ceiling is covered in spectacular plasterwork (which is partially collapsing due to water damage) and is the first of the rooms in the house to have plasterwork by the famous Rudolph Steiner. In fact the ceiling in the entrance hall unlike the other rooms is made of papier-mâché and not plaster!
The 1940 inventory of contents of Manor House School lists the following items being in the Hall:
